Hurricane Melissa
Following the devastation of Category 5 Hurricane Melissa, our team has been navigating flooded regions, clearing roads, and helping reach communities that were cut off in the storm’s aftermath.
Responders have been conducting route reconnaissance and welfare checks, assisting with medical cases, and supporting ongoing relief coordination with long-term partners on the island. We also recently cleared major roadblocks with chainsaws to open access for aid delivery to an unreached community, as well as assisting partner teams as they provided wound care and critical aid to storm victims.
The damage across Jamaica is widespread, and most areas still lack power, clean water, and transportation. Our current focus is on scouting/intel for partner organizations, creating access routes, delivering medical and relief supplies, and overall helping the situation to stabilize so recovery/rebuilding efforts can begin in the hardest-hit communities as bigger, more long-term organizations begin moving in.
The total cost for this deployment is around $28,000. Your donation, no matter how small, equips our responders to bring hope to the worst-affected regions in Jamaica.
