Chazak Rescue is currently working on deploying to Mexico as Category 5 Hurricane Polo threatens the country’s Pacific coast. Even if the storm’s center remains offshore, heavy rainfall have high potential to cause life-threatening flooding and landslides, particularly in Guerrero and Michoacán. These conditions could wash out infrastucture and leave communities cut off from help.

We are moving early to position our team to respond as the storm progresses. When flooding and landslides block access, reaching isolated families can take time. Being in the country allows us to assess conditions firsthand and determine where our team’s rescue and medical training can be most useful.

The scale of this response is still developing. We are closely monitoring the storm and will adjust our plans as conditions change. Your support helps cover team travel, transportation, and supplies needed to respond.
