Dear friends, The following is a small update on what we here at Chazak have been up to during the month of January! To find out about where we’re at in training, deployments, and funding, read on!
Chazak Academy Training: Class 4
Class 4 has been working hard on their courses from home during their 1.4 Core Training. This phase is a critical step in their development, as it gives them time to reinforce what they learned in their Alpha Training while preparing them for the next stage. Their studies include a balance of spiritual growth, skill-building, and first responder training. The curriculum is designed to equip Cadets with the knowledge and practical abilities they will need in high-pressure situations, whether in humanitarian aid work, crisis response, or leadership roles. The transition from Alpha to Core Training is an important one. It ensures that Cadets have time to process what they learned in their initial training before moving forward. Training at Chazak Academy is structured to be both challenging and deeply meaningful, with each phase playing a crucial role in shaping these individuals into capable, mission-ready Guardians. The upcoming 1.5 Alpha phase will test everything they have learned so far, pushing them to refine their skills under more intense conditions.
GFIO Training
In the beginning of January, Chazak Guardians completed the GFIO (Go Figure It Out) Sage Lane training in Tennessee. This hands-on, scenario-based training was set in a simulated Pakistan environment and led by highly trained professionals with years of experience in crisis zones. Unlike traditional classroom learning, this training placed the Guardians in real-world scenarios where they had to think on their feet, problem-solve under pressure, and work as a cohesive unit to accomplish mission objectives.

The training covered key elements such as Key Leader Engagements, an essential skill when working in volatile regions where building relationships with local leaders can determine the success of humanitarian missions. Guardians also learned unconventional methods of communication that can be used in areas where infrastructure is unreliable or compromised. Other hard skills were put to the test as well, including water rescue operations, humanitarian aid drops, and emergency response tactics, all of which were carried out in real-time, stress-induced conditions.
The purpose of this training was to prepare Guardians for upcoming deployments to East Africa and the Middle East, where their ability to adapt and respond quickly in complex environments will be crucial. This was an invaluable experience, and we are incredibly grateful to our partners inTennessee for making this training possible.
Operation Red Dawn
Ongoing conflict and instability in the Middle East have left hospitals overwhelmed and underfunded, while ethnic and religious minorities face increasing threats from extremist groups. Refugees remain vulnerable to human trafficking, forced labor, and exploitation, as international aid declines and host countries struggle to provide basic services. At the same time, worsening droughts and resource scarcity have intensified food and water shortages, deepening the humanitarian crisis across the region.

The Guardians have deployed to the region. While there, the goal is for the Team to among other things deliver humanitarian aid with medical care, distribute goods such as heating material, cooking oil, small coats, hygiene items, and other essentials to those in need. In addition, theTeam is working to build rapport and expand the capabilities of on-the-ground organizations, utilizing their specialized training in security and logistics to ensure that aid efforts are as effective and far-reaching as possible.
This is a currently ongoing deployment, and the situation remains fluid. The need for support is urgent, and the work being done in the region is critical. The Guardians are dedicated to providing aid where it is most needed, and their ability to continue this mission depends on the generosity of those who believe in the cause. Stay tuned for more important updates as the deployment progresses.

Impact Thrift
Our newest self-funding venture, Impact Thrift, saw its official Grand Opening day on January 24, 2025! Located on the Bench in Boise, Idaho, Impact Thrift is meant to be an investment into the Boise community, while also generating sustainable funding for Chazak Rescue. More than just a store, this project represents a vision for long-term impact—providing affordable goods to the local community while ensuring that Chazak Rescue has a stable source of funding for future missions.
